Ready for some good news? How’s about some good Charlotte real estate news?

I’m more than ready….so last Saturday morning I set out early iPhone in hand to find some good news, see it with my own eyes! I was looking for turned dirt, backhoes, rebar, hardhats, concrete and steel. Well guess what Charlotte is beaming, as in putting up bunches of steel beams. Steel beams mean business and better days ahead….

While its not quite a BOOM yet… there are some encouraging signs that Charlotte might be bouncing back. Here’s what I found:

According to WCNC Steve Byers Bissell is building in Ballantyne big time, get this …the ten story Gragg Building and it’s mirror the Woodward…at 275,000 sf “the largest speculative office project in the nation slated for completion in 2012. Part of Ballantyne Corporate Park, a 535-acre, master-planned office and business community that includes more than 4.3 million square feet of office space and nearly 600 hotel rooms as well as restaurants, medical facilities and stores.”

A little closer to town in Southpark Whole Foods is building a flagship Charlotte store

Charlotte is a great fit for Whole Foods Market, said Scott Allshouse, regional president for Whole Foods Market. The SouthPark area is an exciting opportunity for us to make our entry into the Charlotte market. Were confident Whole Foods Market will become the destination of choice for Charlottes food community and a favorite gathering place for the citys many great professional and home chefs.

Kohls, Walgreens and several other national chains are breaking ground. Chiquita is relocating it’s corporate headquarters to Charlotte Uptown and of course the DNC Democratic National Convention will make for an energetic, exciting summer 2012 in Charlotte! And the DNC 2012 will impact more than just uptown ~ Ballantyne and Southpark area homes and condos are for rent and hotel rooms are about sold out!

Charlotte’s “big pink church” Calvary Church broke ground on a massive 51,000-square-foot $10 million addition on its 100-acre campus at N.C. 51/Pineville-Matthews Road and Rea Road | read the story here |

Somebody is going to miss the boat (they always do) but think about it businesses like Whole Foods, Bissell, Kohls, and Walgreens are pretty careful with their investments ~ they see Charlotte turning around ~ Ballantyne and South Of SouthPark in particular are getting ready to yes sing it with me…..welcome to the BOOMTOWN!

*The lyrics do NOT reflect Charlotte’s boom – but you get the gist….a great song though! Remember to LIKE us and tell us how you think we’re doing on Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/SouthOfSouthPark
