Blaze

OK it’s not official but we’re pretty sure based on popularity and name recognition Blaze Gibbons would have had a good shot! Montibello in the SouthPark area is one of Charlotte’s mostwalker (and dog) friendly neighborhoods. Started in the 1960s Montibello is known for it’s gorgeous hardwood shade trees and wide boulevard like neighborhood streets…in fact on our street Sentinel Post most days the dogs outnumbered the cars!

Our dog Blaze owned (worked) the front yard greeting every passerby four or two legged with a wagging tail and a subtle wink for a treat…the mailman (or woman) was consistent and sometimes made it a sport giving him two treats as he ran around the circular drive!

Montibello is perfectly located close to Southpark Mall shopping, entertainment and the growing business district as well as a short drive to Uptown or the I485 loop and the fast growing Ballantyne area.

But what we loved mostabout Montibello and our home at 4835 Sentinel Post Road was the tranquility.Dinner and glass of wine or morning coffee on our back patio felt more like a mountain retreat than just four miles from one of Charlotte’s fastest growing areas. The birds would make Audubon jealous!

Rhonda new yearsBut the best thing about 4835 Sentinel Post was that this house was our home. Starting with our under the stars backyard wedding send off and crazy Kentucky Derby parties, continuing with family birthday parties and the infamous “Italian Gibbons Christmas” and who could forget the new daughter in law Rhonda’s “shrimp on the floor” dinner with Mom and Dad. New Years Eve lobsters and an impromptu disco in the sunroom for the neighbors…glitter balls and strobe lights were involved. Not to mention proms, sports team parties and of course…just watching TV in the den!Kentucky Derby

Most of all it was our beloved home and we’re excited to see some other family (maybe yours) to make it their own! Imagine the stories you’ll create!
